We are a team of two from the far away land of Transylvania (yes, really) who moved to the far away land of the Azores to see what all the fuss is about. We're still here after almost ten years, so that should say a lot! We try our best to make walking around town as interesting as possible and we genuinely enjoy being asked questions about the islands(we've been to all of them). We also have an encyclopedic knowledge of places where you can stuff your face and wash it down with something. See you on the island!
Get to know Ponta Delgada while walking and talking. A way to take a look around town with some added historical and cultural context. Learn about how an island that was a laurel jungle became a gem in the Atlantic, how an insect and a fungus wiped out what made the locals rich, and other cool stuff you'd need to go to the library for to know. We start in front of the city gates and walk around the historical centre of the town, along the way we'll visit Sr. Santo Cristo, pass by some 'orange palaces' and finish either at the farmers' market or at a quaint church with a panoramic view. We've been living on this gorgeous island for almost a decade now, so expect some insider knowledge as well: during the tour we give recommendations on where to get the best prego, where can you get the local stout beer on tap and which hot spring is least likely to be full of people. Bring sunscreen, a raincoat and come and join us for a walk and explore Ponta Delgada on foot.

Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
