The following walking tour will last approximately two hours and will take place through the old town. Looking for easy access for all audiences, taking into account that our clients can be elderly people, people with mobility limitations, people with small children and babies and even someone who wants to make our journey accompanied by their pet.
Between monument and monument we will go through narrow streets where we will also explain the culture of Majorcan patios, ceramics placed randomly in some corner or the presence of some traditional business such as a celler, a pastry shop (with its star products: ensaimadas, cocas or ice cream). Or some small art gallery.
Monuments and buildings to show and explain:
After the presentation of the tour and giving a brief overview of the history of Mallorca from Talayotic prehistory, through the first Balearic inhabitants, the arrival of the Romans and the Muslim occupation. Until the arrival of Jaime I of Aragón we start with La Lonja and so we will go through the statue of Ramón Llull to talk a little about his life and work.
Before going up the wall on the way to La Seu , we also show El Foner de la Calle by Antonio Maura, recounting the skill of handling the Honda as a weapon and hunting instrument.
More or less this would be the Tour, but now I will only name the monuments in the order of the tour:
La Lonja (where the route begins)
·Statue of Ramón Llul
·Cathedral
·Almudaina
·Wall
·Arab baths
Santa Clara Convent
Monti-Sion Church
Church of Santa Eulalia
·City hall
·Main Square
·Paseo de San Miguel
·San Miguel's Church
·Church of the Nativity
· Plaza España (where it ends)
Each one will talk about its history, its importance, type of construction and some anecdote as far as possible.
The route would end in the Plaza de España talking a little about King Jaime I and giving options of other routes and places to visit on the island.
I'll be at the door of the fish market, with a red shirt
