I’ve done a lot of tours in my life, but this was one of the BEST I’ve EVER had. Diamond is a great and knowledgeable guide and so kind and generous. You won’t regret a single minute if you attend, that’s how we both felt. We would love to attend other tours with her.

Diamond was very entertaining and provided so much information about the city and people. It should not be missed for first time visitors or repeat travelers.

Excellent tour! Tom was engaging and kind with an encyclopedic knowledge of American history. His stories really brought Philadelphia’s past and its players to life.

Thom was born and raised in Philly region and also is a history professor, so the tour had a lot of historical content and curiosities about the city. Thom explanation is also clear and he is available for answer any questions. So totally worth do it if you want to have a great tour experience.

Tom is the best compare to others who offer free services. He is knowledgeable, attentive to his group members, but most importantly entertaining. He caters to old and young. Just my small group was compiled from 6 people ages 9 to 77. And everyone had fun while learning.

Fantastic history tour of Philadelphia with Thomas. The route was well planned and flowed naturally across the key sites. Thomas was extremely knowledgeable and kept everyone engaged throughout. He also shared plenty of useful tips on where to go after the tour, which added real value. The pace was spot on. Overall, an excellent experience and highly recommended.

This tour by Thomas(Tom) Swift is a must if you are visiting Philly. Him being a history teacher really adds the educational and learning aspect of the tour on point. He was very professional, went out of his way to provide detailed information of each and every spot, answered all the questions the group had. He also provided suggestions for local things to checkout, food recommendations etc. All in all, I really enjoyed the tour. And yes, the biggest perk- you will get a candy if you answer his trivia questions :). Thanks Tom.

I had an excellent experience with our tour guide, Tom, in Philadelphia. His knowledge of history was truly impressive, and he brought each story to life with engaging and vivid storytelling. Tom was also incredibly helpful and attentive throughout the entire experience. He made sure everyone was comfortable, answered all questions thoughtfully, and went above and beyond to ensure we got the most out of the tour.

Tom led the best walking tour I’ve ever taken. His knowledge was exceptional, and he was able to answer even the most obscure questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. What really set the experience apart, though, was his storytelling. He brought Philadelphia’s history to life in a way that was engaging, memorable, and fun. His students are incredibly lucky to have him as a history teacher, and anyone booking a tour with him will be lucky to have him as their guide.

I had a great time! Thank you! The host is very kind and positive person and is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about her subject. She walked us through a number of murals in Center City where she took the take ample time to present, address questions, and also debate the meaning of the art. I recommend for anyone want to understand better modern / urban art in Philly.

I really enjoyed my free solo GuruWalk tour with Diamond. The pickup location was easy to find.... just look for the purple bag! She made sure we moved safely through the city. I especially enjoyed the history of the stone carvings of cats at City Hall. They are a tribute to the cat loving president of the Public Buildings Commission. There is netting there, however there are not real cats running around the walls of the building 🤣 Along the way, she shared really interesting history about Philadelphia. I liked learning about Love Park and the famous LOVE sculpture, and also hearing about John Wanamaker and how the modern price tag and refund policy started. Diamond was very knowledgeable at every stop, very friendly, and answered all of my questions. She made the tour easy to follow and enjoyable from start to finish. Overall, it was a great experience and a fun way to explore Philadelphia. I’d definitely recommend this free walking tour specifically with Diamond.
