Being a tourist guide is the only job I have done since I finished my studies in Tourism and obtained the official qualification to work as a guide. Among the many options offered by the tourism sector, I chose this one, because I like to contact diverse people and share the knowledge that I have acquired over the years. My goal is to try to ensure that whoever visits us optimizes their stay in the town. A good visit can start with a simple step.
In a short walk through the center of Valencia we will discover interesting details of the history of the city through its monuments.
We start in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento , where we will access the Town Hall and visit its beautiful glass room, plenary hall and we look out onto the balcony to get the best views of the Plaza.
We discovered some curiosity: why was there a fishermen's neighborhood here years ago in an area so far from the sea?
After knowing some details about the modernist architecture of the Plaza , we moved to the Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas where we found one of the best examples of Baroque architecture in the city and also interesting information about the content of this magnificent Museum.
We continue to the Cathedral and Plaza de la Almoina , where the city originated in Roman times. From the Plaza we have an interesting view of the ruins of what was the first Valentine's city.
At the Puerta de los Apóstoles de la Catedral we will learn everything about the famous Tribunal de las Aguas , the oldest in the world and still in operation. If we visit on Thursday we can witness live how a session of the Water Court is developed.
After this experience we went to the Market area , passing through some of the most picturesque squares in the city , such as Plaza Redonda . We arrive at La Lonja , a World Heritage Site, a masterpiece of civil Gothic architecture built at the time of greatest economic development in Valencia, in the 15th century.
We finish the visit at the Central Market , undoubtedly one of the "jewels" most valued by our visitors , where after the visit you can enjoy many of the delicacies of our land or have tapas in one of the surrounding taverns in an atmosphere of most pleasant.
