Tour description
Vyšehrad is a place of innumerable legends where the seer princess Libuše resided, who is believed to have given the name to the city of Prague.
Here is the Slavín, which is a pantheon monument next to the "Cemetery of the Illustrious" of the Czech Republic. The cemetery is a gallery of the best funeral sculptures in the country and the ideal place to talk about the most famous Czech personalities. in modern history.
Itinerary:
Leaving the station we will see the Nusle Bridge , we will pass by the old Congress Center seeing in the distance the Church of San Carlo Magno. After a 10-minute walk we will enter the Vyšehrad fortress, we will see the park, the San Martin roundabout, sculptures of legendary figures, the church of San Pedro and San Pablo , remains of Romanesque architecture, and others. We will pass by a viewing terrace from where the Vltava can be seen and we will visit the Vyšehrad cemetery in detail.
On the way down we will pass by cubist style houses , remembering that architectural cubism is considered one of the Czech national styles.
We will finish the tour at a tram station with which you can return to the city center.
