Free Tour of Baroque Rome
Hello, I'm Alessio. I'm finishing my art history studies in Rome, although I originally come from Barcelona and spent my last eight years in Germany. In Saxony I spent my time doing guided tours in the wonderful Florence on the Elbe. In addition to art history I study catholic theology and general history, so that I can give a general but complete overview of the events that determined the development of Rome. I am especially interested in paleochristian and baroque art, but of course I will tell you a little bit about everything. But don't be afraid. Apart from explaining the curiosities and history of the city, I am a person who is also interested in having a good time in company, eating traditional Italian food or simply strolling through the streets of the eternal city. Come and let yourself be enchanted by this city and its art!
Tour description
This free tour will allow us to discover the baroque masterpieces that made the eternal city famous. We will start in Piazza Spagna , where we will see Bernini 's legacy and the famous staircase. Passing through Piazza Barberini we will meet one of the most important pontiffs of the baroque. In the church of San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane we will discover Borromini 's architectural jewel. After enjoying the views from the Quirinale Palace, we will go down to the Trevi Fountain , another jewel. To continue with the baroque show, we will marvel at the frescoed vault of the church of San Ignazio . And finally, after seeing the other works of Caravaggio in San Luigi dei Francesi , we will finish in the lively Piazza Navona . Do not miss the spectacle of the Roman Baroque!
