I am Diego Barrios Canora, creator of a small tourism company (Barrios de Madrid). My love for the city I live in, the country where I was born, and the history, art and culture of both, has been the engine that drove the development of this project. I am an official tourist guide and a friend of the Royal Economic Society of Matritense Friends of the Country (RSEMAP). Regarding my studies, I am a senior technician in Tourist Information and Marketing, graduated in Law and I have a master's degree in Planning and Management of Tourist Destinations. In addition, I took the PREDIF course on Accessible Tourism for All People.
For almost three years the capital of Spain was a direct witness to the war. Without a doubt, it was one of the most tragic moments in the recent history of Madrid and the people of Madrid.
Walking through its streets we will recount the events that occurred in those dark days and we will give an account of the day to day of its inhabitants. We will explain how both their resistance and dissent were: a city where acts of cruelty and extraordinary compassion, daily fear and admirable courage were mixed.
A Madrid that deserves to be remembered and visited.
