Tour description

During this half-day trip, I will accompany you to discover the most beautiful lagoon islands of Murano, Burano, and Torcello aboard the strangest type of bus in the world: the Vaporetto! The best friend of all Venetians since 1895 when his unbeatable service began!

(At 9 am an early, intimate, unforgettable, and relaxing trip to the lagoon :)

The best we will explore Torcello, 17 century ago the first community of Venice.

Today the last 9 locals still live inside a "dark age city" where everything is like many centuries ago.

From the top of its Romanesque Tower, you will enjoy an impressive view of the Venetian lagoon! (Entrance to Torre Torcello 5 euros NOT INCLUDED)

How about the second incredible trip to Burano, the fascinating and colorful city, a fishing community famous for its thousand-year-old lace industry?

You will see one of the last lace factories where the last old lacers are still doing this very old craft tradition! I am sure: you will love them!

At the end, we will visit the world famous Murano, where the last 20 families still produce our amazing glass masterpieces like 1000 years ago.

The free tour will be through "Glasser street": we will explore a real glass factory with its family art gallery and see the masters at work!

(Around 12, I really suggest you have lunch in Burano, where some of the best local seafood cuisine is prepared, but it is optional, is up to you ;)

(24h VAPORETTO TICKET NOT INCLUDED _ COST 21€)

This was our last guided walk during our trip to Venice and we had the pleasure of having Andreas, whom we had on an earlier tour. The islands we visited were stunning and as we were leaving that day Andreas arranged for us to leave our luggage at strategic points on the tour so we could enjoy walking around without dragging our bags with us. Andreas Even made sure we got on the right water taxi to the airport at the end of the tour. In our opinion he went above and beyond our expectations.

Andreas was amazing. I really loved his energy and his jokes. He made the whole day fun and exciting. It was more of an adventure than a typical tour. He arranged for a demonstration of lace and glass and that was wonderful! Honestly, I’ll sign up for any of Andreas other tours! Anyone reading this should remember to tip Andreas. He didn’t mention tips at all so I think a few people were confused. Tip him. He’s fantastic.

I recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Venice! The islands are beautiful, and being part of a tour group really made the process of taking the ferries easy, and also gave us access to lace-making and glass-blowing demonstrations (the glass-blowing is a must-see!) Andreas is hilarious and made the whole experience really fun. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this excursion for someone looking for really in-depth historical commentary, but for someone looking for an informative, entertaining way to see the surrounding islands, this is a fantastic option!

Absolutely amazing tour!! Andreas was amazing and hilarious. We bought the vaporetto 24hour ticket to travel between the towns, which was handy. We first visited burano, where we got to see the beautiful colourful houses and meet the cat mascot 😂. We got to see how burano lace was made and visit the shop. We had time for coffee and snacks while we waited for the next water bus. Next we visited torcello which is home to 9 residents, he offered us the option of seeing the tower or the church, we opted for the tower. Which has beautiful views. We then visited murano and was able to watch a demonstration of how the glass is made. Which was amazing. Then visit the show room. He told us which shops we could stop in depending what we were interested in to see or buy murano glass. He told us about the history of each town and sent us messages about where and what to visit while we were in venice. We were able to ask any question we wanted. I would definitely recommend this tour
