Free Carnaval Tour in São Paulo
I was born and raised in São Paulo, lived and experienced it in diverse ways. Love to show people around, have done it many times with traveling friends so I know the most interesting spots to see. Am a volunteer in different organisations and love history, so will try to show you the history of this city and how it lead to the different social problems we have today, but in a fun and light way :)
Tour description
I will show you the history of carnaval in Brazil and how it became the biggest party in the world. We will start with the context of how this european celebration came to Brazil and gave birth to the Samba rhythim, then spreading to the whole country.
We will:
-Understand the origin of carnaval and how it was transformed in Brazil with the influence of afro and native brazilian rithyms
- Learn about the history of Samba
- Visit a live samba school rehearsal or street party rehearsal so you can experience the live magic of the drums. (exact school depends on the day of the week the tour occurs)
-Play with the drums with the carnaval instruments I have and will show you how to play
I have some intruments and will show how to play so you can be a carnaval percussionist for some moments.
We will finish the tour talking to a percussionist whos is my friend to understand better the routine of the Samba school leading to the carnaval championship parade.
