During this tour, which starts at Plaza Isabel II (Metro Opera), we will talk about two dynasties that made Madrid a monumental capital and the magnificent buildings surrounding the eastern part of the Royal Palace of Madrid, such as the Madrid Opera, Plaza de Oriente, and the details that adorn it, making this square one of the most historic in the city. We will then focus on two of the most representative buildings in the area: the Royal Palace of Madrid, where we will discuss the origin of the War of Independence against Napoleon that began outside the Royal Palace, and the Almudena Cathedral, the patroness of the city of Madrid. We will then visit one of the nerve centers of commerce in medieval Madrid, Plaza de la Villa, and the buildings that adorn this iconic square of Madrid. We continue the tour passing through the most famous gastronomic market and its surroundings, descending Calle Cuchilleros where we will see different restaurants with a lot of history, such as the Caves of Luis Candelas, Sobrino de Botín considered the oldest in the world, and we cannot miss one of the streets with the best gastronomy in the city, none other than Calle de la Cava Baja, located in the La Latina neighborhood, the oldest neighborhood in Madrid.
