Hi! I’m Aniko from Budapest,Hungary. Everybody just calls me Annie, its easier to pronounce. I worked as a licensed tour guide for more than 12 years, working mainly in Hungary, Greece, and Thailand. I enjoy discovering countries (as a tourist), like Australia, New Zealand, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, the USA, and many more. I am a real foodie, so I spend quite a lot of time in the kitchen, preparing (mainly) sweets. Yes, I am always on diet! My son just finished at Cambridge University, so I am the proudest mom on the planet, of course. Budapest is fooody and I truly enjoy showing it to friends and tourists!

Tour description

Central Market Hall-walking tour with a foody local together-discovering the typical Hungarian dishes and sweets.

Let’s discover the best market in Budapest together and learn about the typical Hungarian dishes and sweets together!
Come with me!

If You’ve just arrived in Budapest: it’s worth coming with me, in addition to the food tips you will hear some “must-see” tips, as well.
Get to know with me the “must try” delicacies so that you will know what to eat and taste during your stay.
Maybe you have been walking around the city with its many historical sights for days.
As a tourist, you must have heard a lot of history during your stay in Budapest.
Let's wash it all down with a walk showing and talking about local food where we will visit the Market!

Let’s discover the delicious secrets of the capital together!

We will meet just opposite the main entrance and then walk to  Budapest’s best-known and most beautiful market: The Budapest “Nagycsarnok”.
During our walk, there will be one stop where you can buy sweet or salty tasty bites!
We will visit several levels of the airy historic building together, with several small stops, so that we can take a closer look at some of the typical Hungarian delicacies.
Of course, the famous Hungarian “fast food” cannot be left out: the iconic “lángos”, which is usually eaten with fresh sour cream and plenty of garlic.

We will get to know the “rétes”, which can be made with a variety of fillings.

Pogácsa is a real Hungarian delicacy: it is almost mandatory at festivals, on trips and in the evenings with beer or wine.
After our walk in the Great Market, I will share some local tips about “what to do and what not to miss”-as a tour guide and as a local as well.
