On this tour we will not only visit the main places in Granada, but we will also delve into the history of the Granada inquisition, visiting those places where unusual events took place.
We begin our route at the Church of Santo Domingo, located in the Realejo neighborhood, an old Jewish quarter, there we will learn what happened to the Jews when the Catholic Monarchs arrived and we will visit the old headquarters of the inquisition in Granada. Our route continues to the Plaza de Isabel la Católica, where we will discover the political and religious ins and outs that prompted the queen to use the Inquisition. We will advance to the Plaza de Bib Rambla, the epicenter of inquisitorial trials that marked the history of Granada and just two meters from this square is the Cathedral of Granada, the former main mosque and protagonist of important changes during the Christian era.
In the lower prison street we will discover where the secret inquisitorial prisons were located and what happened once inside.
Afterwards we will visit Plaza Nueva, where we will feel the intensity of the times when the executioners carried out their macabre tasks. We conclude our tour on the Paseo de los tristes.
