Discover historical London in 2 hours
Tour description
This is the discover London in 2 hours tour, delivered by myself Stuart, a Londoner originally from this incredible city.
We start just outside the iconic National Gallery, Trafalgar Square which hosts over 2,000 pieces of medieval and contemporary art, I will explain why the National Gallery is so amazing and also its special location at the heart of London i.e Trafalgar square. We will allow time for pictures before heading to the St James Palace the official seat of the monarch for 500 years. Basically St James Palace was Buckingham Palace before the latter was built :-) We then go to Buckingham Palace the current official residence of the King. I will allow time for photos at this magnificent building while explaining its importance in the history of the UK. We will then head to Westminster Cathedral. The cathedral is the largest catholic church in the UK, a place of serenity and quiet amidst the noise outside. We will then take the 15 minute walk to Westminster Abbey. A UNESCO world heritage site and the site of the coronation of 40 British monarchs. We will finish our tour at the nearby Palace of Westminster also known as the Houses of Parliament. The current location of the British Government and the main seat of power in the country another UNESCO world heritage site and an unmissable site for tourists in London.
I will answer any questions you have and I look forward to hosting you on my tour, which I hope will leave you an understanding of what makes it so special.
