Mahmoud was an amazing tour guide. He was so knowledgeable, friendly and very professional. I would highly, highly recommend him to anyone wanting to take a tour in Cairo. We also did the night tour with him and he went above and beyond. It was an excellent experience.

One of the best tours I've ever taken. Excellent information and Mahmoud was incredibly helpful in answering any questions. We also visited wonderful parts of the citadel that other groups and tourists didn't even see. I also want to highlight his professionalism and punctuality in organizing and maintaining the tour, even though I was the only person who had booked it.

Mahmoud is a fantastic guide. I think it was challenging to effectively cover the history of the Citadel of Saladin in 2.5 hours. Starting with an introduction to the time period that will be the focus of the tour with a high-level chronology of the history would have better set the stage for the tour. But, all-in-all, great tour within a stunning Citadel.

Mahmoud is the best guide you could ever meet on your travels. He speaks English fluently and has an incredible knowledge of history and art, which he shares with genuine passion. He truly loves his work and takes care of every detail, always making sure you feel comfortable and looked after. What makes Mahmoud truly special, though, is his big heart. Spending time with him means sharing a small piece of that warmth and humanity, and it makes the experience unforgettable. I sincerely hope to meet him again one day.

I confirm the excellent reviews made by other visitors. We had an amazing walk through the citadel with Mahmoud, who explained us the history of the places with their cultural references and anecdotes . very professional, knowledgeable and funny. He is also skilled in photography (gives good tips for photos and selfies) and singing (listen to him singing in the mosque!).

Mahmoud's tour was excellent! He was extremely informative, warm and welcoming- he answered all the questions we threw at him and was very knowledgeable about the Islamic history of the citadel and Cairo, and Egypt in general. He also took us to smaller, untouched areas of the citadel like newly opened courtyards and mosques which felt like another world. Mahmoud's also a great photographer which was a nice bonus! He had lots of great photograph location recommendations and insisted on contorting himself into different positions to get the best shot for us. Additional notable points which are a testament to Mahmoud's character: I was originally the only one signed up to the tour yet, instead of cancelling, Mahmoud was still willing to go ahead with it which I thought was very generous (a few others ended up booking last minute though). He also gave me a lift to the best koshary place in town at the end of the tour as he was driving in that general direction. His kindness and generosity made this tour extra special- i'd highly recommended Mahmoud's tour!

We had an excellent tour with Mahmoud in the day time and then again at night. He was professional and had a great calm way about him. Very knowledgeable and related information in an easy way. He liked him so much we joined him for night tour with boat ride and great night walk through bazaar and historical area. We loved it and highly recommend him for all people.

If you have a few hours before your flight, try this walking tour by Mahmoud. You will be pleasantly surprised at how much fond memory you will have for the rest of your life. Mahmoud knows the Saladin Fort inside out. He opened many secret doors for us to show unknown beautiful mosques, stables, and classrooms. He also told us many stories such as Mamunuk massacre. His picture taking skills was simply “amazing”. Unlike some other tour guides, he was super patient and made every minute of mine worth it. Our 2 hours tour was extended to 2 1/2 hours without us noticed it. Almost missed our flights on our way back. In a word, if you have a walk with him, you will feel very lucky.
