I took the 3-hour Apartheid tour today, and I genuinely lost track of time. Michael’s storytelling is so intense and engaging that the hours simply fly by. This is exactly what I value when traveling abroad: an honest, unfiltered account—less politically correct, more truthful, meaningful, and heartfelt—of the country I’m visiting. Michael is very knowledgeable and passionate! The tour lasted 3 hours instead of 2 hours as he had so much to tell us. Enjoyed the experience and education. Will definitely see the history of South Africa with different eyes.

Probably the best walking tour I've done! Micheal is so knowledgeable, he answered all of my questions with great care and made sure I felt looked after and safe (I'm a solo female traveller) . I had an absolutely brilliant day with him and I'd highly recommend him to anyone who's interested in the real history of Cape Town and South Africa.

Sehr informative tour über die Geschichte Südafrikas. Sie wurde uns sehr anschaulich und ausführlich näher gebracht. Leider konnten wir nicht bis zum Ende bleiben, da die Tour länger als angegeben dauerte.

A tour with him helps you understand perfectly the historical and cultural past of this town and country, and all the struggles its people has gone through and it's going through now. He is kind and always welcoming for any questions you might have! A great tour overall, and we even had 30 extra minutes!

BEST TOUR IN CAPE TOWN!! me & my partner are still so blown away by this experience. it is one thing to listen history facts from somebody who has studied it from books BUT IT IS ANOTHER THING TO HEAR IT FROM SOMEBODY WHO HAS LIVED IT!!! After a little bumpy start, we had a really good, informative and intense tour with Michael. He was patient and very open to answer all questions we had, even when we brushed controversial topics or difficult ones of current politics. Michael seems like a very reflective person and has experienced and actively fought for ending the Apartheid himself, which allowed us to switch into his perspective for a while. Thank you Michael, this was an experience that left us with a lot to think and talk about until today.

The best free walking tour I’ve ever done, hands down. Michael was the perfect tour guide for this tour. He shared his lived experience. He provided historical context and related it well to the stops on the tour. But the personal connection to what he was sharing is what made this tour so special and impactful. Go into the tour with an open mind and be prepared to see South Africa with a new perspective. It’s a tour which really makes you think.
