A tour with him helps you understand perfectly the historical and cultural past of this town and country, and all the struggles its people has gone through and it's going through now. He is kind and always welcoming for any questions you might have! A great tour overall, and we even had 30 extra minutes!

BEST TOUR IN CAPE TOWN!! me & my partner are still so blown away by this experience. it is one thing to listen history facts from somebody who has studied it from books BUT IT IS ANOTHER THING TO HEAR IT FROM SOMEBODY WHO HAS LIVED IT!!! After a little bumpy start, we had a really good, informative and intense tour with Michael. He was patient and very open to answer all questions we had, even when we brushed controversial topics or difficult ones of current politics. Michael seems like a very reflective person and has experienced and actively fought for ending the Apartheid himself, which allowed us to switch into his perspective for a while. Michael’s true lived-in experience of the recent and ongoing struggles of apartheid made for a very engaging tour and gave a real-life perspective of life in cape town today that would be difficult to find elsewhere. This tour was exceptional. Michael has a personal viewpoint as he has family, as well as he, himself, who was very involved in the struggle for equality. He presented the history of the Cape from the first inhabitants to the people living in Cape Town today, and all that came in between. We love history and this tour was the best historical tour of many that we took during our 3 week stay in South Africa.
