I arrived in Coimbra without many expectations, but this walking tour turned out to be a great surprise. Since there were no other participants, the tour became a private experience, which made it even more engaging and enjoyable. The tour was guided by Igor, who walked me through the city’s history from its early foundations to more modern times, taking us through historic streets and gardens that really help you understand the character of Coimbra. As a Harry Potter fan, I found it especially interesting how many of the stories, traditions, and the academic atmosphere made strong connections to the kind of fantasy world J.K. Rowling later brought to life. Several moments and locations genuinely felt like they could have inspired that universe. Overall, the tour was well-paced, informative, and different from a typical walking tour. It gave me a much deeper appreciation of Coimbra and made the city far more memorable than I initially expected. Definitely worth doing if you want history, context, and a touch of magic.

José was an amazing guide for our tour. He is really nice, so you are confortable since the beginning. He speaks a really good English, and always try his best to understand your questions. We did a Coimbra tour, and it was nice to see the Tourist Spots, but also some hidden places. We learnt a lot about the traditions of the scholars here. José helped us to take photos, and he give us some jokes. After the tour, he also give us more recommendations in the city, like restaurants, where to take a good coffee to hear fado,... It was one of my favorite tour ever!

Igor was FANTASTIC 🤩 We loved the tour with him and we did not understand how 2 hours passed so quickly. He taught us so much about the history of Coimbra while giving us very interesting fun facts, informing us of local legends and sharing his experiences.
