I was absolutely thrilled with this tour! Although we had just met, Igor immediately made me feel welcome by calling me his friend. The tour began in the beautiful Botanical Garden with a delightful sensory and culinary introduction to local herbs and not so local fruits. 😉 After this varied start, we continued through the city itself. Since there were only two of us on the tour, it turned into a very personal and engaging experience, allowing for an informative dialogue in which Igor could answer all our questions. He even stayed in touch afterwards via messenger, offering helpful tips for the rest of my stay. Thanks to him, I got to experience Coimbra from all its sides, cultural, historical, and student life alike.

I really enjoyed the Tour! José gave a very nice overview of Coimbra and the history.

People probably think that because the tour is “free”, it will not be as good as one you pay for. The tour is just as good as a paid tour and I would highly recommend booking these free tours wherever you go, You have to be prepared to give the guide a good tip or he/she will not be happy to have you on the tour.

A great way to explore and learn about the city. Only 10 in our group so it was easy to hear Jose as he pointed out and gave more information about each stop on the tour

Very impressive tour. Organized, well presented. Excellent knowledge of Portuguese and Coimbrian history and culture. Entertaining. Had experienced a different walking tour of Coimbra several years ago (which was also very good) but have to say this was a step above. The use of an audio guide made the experience that much better. Worth every Euro one is willing to give.
