Essential Free walking tours of Coimbra

Igor took us on a downhill (very important) tour of Coimbra telling stories and history as we walked. Good engagement, professional and respectful. Very enjoyable!

I thought that the last Guru Walk tour was the best, but this one was outstanding and every bit as good. Igor was knowledgeable, yet he was very entertaining. The tour lasted well over our allotted time, and yet the tour seemed to last only a few minutes. Great job!!!

Igor was amusing, informative and showed care for us as his clients! His English was very good and his diction was clear so that my slightly deaf husband had no problem taking it all in. He obviously has not only knowledge but a passion for the history of Coimbra (& Portugal)! We learnt lots of tit bits that we wouldn't have picked up from a guide book. Roger was very welcoming. His love for his adopted city of Coimbra was clearly evident as was his research of its history. We had a small group of only 4 people which in no way dampened his enthusiasm or sharing of knowledge. He provided us an excellent recommendation for dinner and we loved hearing about current student life. Overall the tour was excellent with well described information and enthusiasm for answering questions which was very much appreciated. I would have liked to cover a bit more ground with a few more hidden gems but the main street and historic sites were well covered. Thank you for the tour!

Roger our guide was very entertaining, knows a lot of unusual facts you would not get out of a book and was very passionate about the subjects he told us about. so glad we where on this walking tour helped us so much get an understanding of Coimbra.

I really like the passionate way Igor tells the stories of the city and the university – few names and dates, but many interesting historical legends, facts, details of student life, and local tips. Starting the tour with a visit to the beautiful botanical garden is a great idea.
