Free walking tours in Dushanbe

I was the only one taking the tour on that day, we walked main attractions and Ardasher shared the historical background and information. What made me a bit upset is about the experience I had in the public library. Ardasher mentioned about the tour in visiting the library is free upfront, then he hand over the tour to the library officer when we arrived. After the visit, the library officer asked for money and I thought it's normal to give for a tips. After we left the library, Ardasher asked for the case and question why I gave money as he stated the library is free of charge. To me, if he stated clearly that there's a potential for library officer in asking for tips which I should ignore, then it would be much better as I'm definitely not aware for this chaos will happen in this place. In addition, we spend 1/3 or 1/4 of our time in public library which I thought it's too much while the walking tour last for 2 hours only.

great trip from dushanbe for a couple hours!

Mahmadjon is an awesome guide + driver. He is fluent in English hence, easy to communicate with for non-local travellers and/or tourists. He has a profound knowledge about the history of Tajikistan, and able to provide information and details a traveller need to know about the points of interests. I would definitely recommend him to someone who plans to visit this Central Asian country.

Interesting tour to the Hisor Fortress

Very interesting tour through Tajikistans hisotry and Tahisktian today through a 2 1/2 hour walk through Dushanbe. Ardahser knows what he is doing and gave lots of more ideas what to explore in the city.

Ardasher was great and very kind human. He has excellent knowledge about Dushanbe and Tajikistan and his English is perfect. He love his country- Tajikistan and proud of having like this beautiful country. Ardasher organised city tour for me that I did not feel how the time is finished. It was fantastic. I highly recommend city walking tour of dear brother Ardasher to everyone who interested to city walking tour. Also Ardasher can organise other cheap and budget tours to Iskandarkul Lake and other parts of Tajikistan. I also enjoyed one day tour from Dushanbe to Iskandarkul to Dushanbe. Thanks dear brother. I’ve done a lot of tours with GuruWalk already, but this one has to be the best so far! Mahmadjon was all I could have asked for, really kind, a lot of knowledge about Hissor, but also about Tajikistan and every other question I had, and he also spoke the best English I’ve encountered in Tajikistan so far! Ardasher was very enthusiastic & knowledgeable on the town of Dushanbe. I was on the tour on my own and felt that it was rushed but being in a group situation, I think this is where Ardasher would thrive.

This tour was a great way to get to know Dushanbe, especially for a first-time visitor. Ardasher was friendly, professional, and shared a lot of valuable context about Tajikistan’s history. He took us through the city’s key landmarks with detailed explanations and added some interesting stories along the way that helped bring the city’s history to life. He was happy to answer questions and even gave us tips on local spots to check out after the tour. It felt like walking the city with a local friend. Would definitely recommend!

Ardasher is a very friendly and informative guide. In the 2 hours tour of the city center, I learned a lot about Tajikistan's history and culture. I highly recommend this walking tour!

Ardasher met me at my hostel as I was the only person on the tour as it was super low season. He was throughly engaging and a really knowledgeable person. His route lets you take in what Tajikistan and Dushanbe has to offer. The only disappointing thing about Dushanbe is the fact that I am not spending more time here.

I especially liked the extra free tour of the national library that he included. It was very interesting!
