It was a great experience. I regret not taking this excursion on the first day of my stay. Eduardo has a great sense of humour, and it feels like he truly enjoys sharing stories about Funchal. It was a pleasant, insightful, and high-quality experience with a local who genuinely loves his city. Definitely recommend! And the cherry on top was the guide brochure with recommendations for restaurants and places to visit.

Lilian is a wonderful tour guide who was a wealth of information about her hometown of Funchal. She is quite personable as well as informative. Despite it being a Sunday and in the midst of a flower show, she provided us with many venues and opportunities to gain insight as to the culture of Madeira. We wholeheartedly, recommend Liliana.

A wonderful start to our trip ! We had a fabulous tour of the west side of the city Funchal . Our guide was an archaeologist and had excellent knowledge which he was able to blend with his experience as a local and engage us in an informative and entertaining way . He answered all of our questions and also told us about cafes , restaurants, museums, galleries and bus services as well as the best places for us personally to visit . The two and a half hours flew by. Eduardo’s charming and honest way of telling his stories about Madeira made it a joy to listen to him. I would recommend his tour to anyone who wants to learn more about the history of Madeira, its people and how to avoid falling into the TripAdvisor trap. His recommendations are detailed and allow you to move of the beaten path. I would even go so far as to call him the Cristiano Ronaldo of free walking tours 😉
