Born and raised in Los Angeles, our tour starts 10 minutes from the hospital where I was born. Like my city, I am multicultural and multilingual.
My mom is from Guatemala, my dad is from El Salvador, and my Spanish is Mexican. Additionally, I did study abroad in China for 1 year and speak Mandarin Chinese. Like you, I love traveling, learning, and meeting new people.
My goal is to show you a version of Los Angeles that you would never see otherwise. To bring together the modern world with our "ranchero" roots.
Wonderful your lead by a fantastic tour guide.
Marlon is an outstanding guide. He made the tour entertaining and informative. The pace of the tour was perfect and I never got bored.
I reached out to Marlon via WhatsApp to find out why he didn’t show up for the tour. Waited 15 minutes. He never responded. Only afterwards did I see that the tour was cancelled via email just two hours prior. I don’t check emails regularly. He should have responded to me via WhatsApp. I wasted 1.5 hours of my day getting there.
First of all, there aren't many people offering walking tours in Downtown L.A., so Marlon's tour is one of a few. On top of that, Marlon offers the tour in English and Spanish which was key for my family as some of them aren't proficient in English. I do recommend the tour; I learned a lot about the history of Downtown L.A., the city's development, the culture and cool aspects of the city in its modern version. I also enjoyed Marlon's way of building rapport with the people in the tour as he has prepared some cool activities for people to interact with each other during the tour. I do recommend this tour to anyone.
