The guide was friendly with great restaurant tips, but the historical content needs a complete overhaul. The tour starts with the Spanish arrival as if nobody lived here before, no mention of the Guanche people who'd been here long before. The Spanish conquest was framed as heroic with no acknowledgment of Indigenous suffering. The guide dismissed colonial brutality, and when challenged, claimed Spain was "less brutal than others" and that the natives were "European-origin Amazigh people" (just wrong). The tour should focus on the island's actual culture, landscape, or modern life, rather than colonial timelines.
