My name is Jose. I live in Coimbra since I was a student here a few years ago.
I like history, culture and art. And I love meeting new people.
I offer general tours of the city in Portuguese and English. I also offer more specific and in-depth tours of the New and Old Cathedrals and the University of Coimbra.
José was an amazing guide for our tour. He is really nice, so you are confortable since the beginning. He speaks a really good English, and always try his best to understand your questions. We did a Coimbra tour, and it was nice to see the Tourist Spots, but also some hidden places. We learnt a lot about the traditions of the scholars here. José helped us to take photos, and he give us some jokes. After the tour, he also give us more recommendations in the city, like restaurants, where to take a good coffee to hear fado,... It was one of my favorite tour ever!
One of the best walking tours I have done from GuruWalk. José was a wealth of knowledge and provided amazing history and context to all of the attractions in Coimbra. He was very kind and always had a fascinating answer to any of our questions. He is truly an expert on this city and has chosen an incredible route for his tour. This tour cannot be missed if you have a few hours in Coimbra, it will make your experience in this city so much better.
