Free walking tours in Hue

I agree with everything that has been said in previous comments. I really enjoyed this short vietnamese language session! The very interactive chat with Bem was perfect to learn a few basics to be used in everyday life: introduce yourself and ask basic questions, order in a restaurant, etc. Bem has been very helpful and very friendly. She really conveys her energy and her passion for language learning and intercultural dialogue. I really recommend this "tour" if you are spending a few days or weeks in Vietnam. Thanks Bem!

I had an absolutely fantastic food tour in Hue with Du. She was a wonderful guide, warm, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. Du took us to a range of authentic local spots that we would never have found on our own, each offering something unique and delicious. What really stood out was how thoroughly she explained each dish, its ingredients, how it’s made, and the cultural significance behind it. I came away not only full, but with a much deeper appreciation for Hue and its food. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting an authentic and insightful food experience in Hue!

Our tour guide Vivian was brilliant! She was patient and very knowledgeable, as well as being a great photographer. The tour was really great, the palace itself is an amazing complex and the restoration that has been completed over the last few years is super impressive! I had a thousand questions and she was able to answer with an informative and well thought out answer. As she is an English student it almost goes without saying, but her English was excellent!

Du lead our group of 4 people around the palace there was just enough explanation at each view point and plenty of time for photos. Would recommend this guru to anyone visiting Hue.

This was such an interesting tour! I really liked getting to know the history of the imperial city. Our guide, Du, was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions, both about the imperial era and modern day. 100% recommend!

We had a really good tour of the Imperial City with Vy. She was friendly and easy to understand, which made the whole experience enjoyable. By explained the history clearly, you could tell she actually knows her stuff :) The tour was well-paced and she answered all our questions. Would definitely recommend

Our tour started promptly at the indicated meeting spot. It was just four of us with our guide. She provided an efficient route thru the Citadel/imperial palace that we probably wouldn’t have thought of on our own. It was hot so she always stopped in shady spots to talk about the area we were viewing. She had interesting stories and information about the area. She was funny and spoke English very well. We were really happy we saw this site with a guide.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time on our tour with Vy. She is incredibly knowledgeable and provided deep insights into the history of the last Vietnamese royal dynasty. We especially appreciated the way she paced the tour, she gave us 10-minute breaks to explore on our own and take photos, which allowed us to really soak in the atmosphere of the royal palace. Highly recommended!

Did the Hue Walking Food Tour with guide Rose. She was very friendly and had a good menu planned. Our group was got along well and had good chats along the way. We tried various local food, all delicuous. Rose was entertaining and explained what we were having at each stop. I had food that I would not have found on my own. Highly recommended to get familiar with local food.

Huy led our tour to the Imperial Palace. He gave entertaining explanations of the history and significance of the buildings, and plenty of time to take photos and wander around.

This was so enjoyable! I haven’t been on a motorbike for a while, tried a Grab and was terrified! Son put me at my ease and gave me the safest and most enjoyable experience. We visited so many places and he was interesting and informative and answered all my annoying questions . Frankly he was very charming and I can’t recommend his tour highly enough. The drives to the destination were interesting and I got to see parts of Hue I would never have seen. The destinations themselves were interesting,m. A highlight for me was the Buddhists Monastery, I was lucky enough to experience a ceremony and also hear the Nuns singing from the Nunnery next door which was beautiful. The abandoned theme park with the dragon has to be seen, the setting is lovely and the dragon amazing, never seen anything like it. A must for anyone visiting Hue and with such an amazing guide, thank you Son. Oh, one thing, he worked extremely hard today, drove his bike expertly and was very kind and fun to spend time with. I was only too happy to spend the 250,000 dong to cover his petrol etc. costs as well as pay him for his time.

Our guide was fabulous, full of interesting detail and was ready to answer any question asked. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Take the tour it’s great, just don’t be late! You won’t be waited for, quite right to. Thank you so much for an entertaining and informative tour.

Huy was lovely and informative! He clearly has a passion for the history of Vietnam as a whole and was very knowledgeable. We loved it.

A little confusing at the outset that this is advertised as free but there is then a charge for the bike and rider... they were up front about this however. Really they should just say it's 250k pp, then any tip is discretionary. However, the tour guide was very good, with good English. The places visited were a mix of things you probably normally wouldn't see. The tour was enjoyable on a hot day, I'm glad we did it on the afternoon though because it cooled down towards the end. Both riders were safe & responsible. The trip was a little shorter than expected and no water provided so we had to buy some at a rip-off vendor. I don't know if the riders were happy with their tips but they are discretionary and this is advertised as free. In total we ended up paying about 60% of what a priced-up tour costs, which may or may not be better. I would recommend this tour though as it's an enjoyable way to see other parts of the city.

The tour was excellent. Our guide Du made it both very interesting, historic and funny...the whole experience was fantastic.
