Free walking tours in Sa Pa

We booked another walking tour (Sapa Town Free Walking Tour - Cultural Highlights) for 9am, but the last moment we were told we were going to the Sapa Countryside Walking Tour - Hidden Valleys & H’mong Culture. As we were considering joining it as well but as a second option, we agreed to join this tour instead. We recommend to keep this tour as an additional and not the main walking tour in this location. Our guide May was very nice and friendly, sharing a lot of real life stories, which was insightful. Although the beginning of the tour was interesting, the second half of the walk was excessive (repetitive landscapes, no rice fields to see as now is not the season, not easy to find the taxi back to the city, Grab rejected our order). Consider these details when booking the tour.

Thanks to miss Phin as our guide of the day. Thanks to help us to reach country side & give many information that we never hear about. We got surprise to meet a group of buffalo at rice fields & special unique photo there 😄 If you like country, you would like to see the nature view from this trip. So don't miss it!

SU MAY is your guide. She did well and share a lot of experience about BLACK MIAO. But suggest the participants wear good shoes to walk through part of mud road

Excellent tour through nearby villages and farming trails, including visiting a Hmong house. Great stories and explanations of village life.

Phin was a lovely and engaging host. She answered any questions we had. She was very knowledgeable about what we saw on our walk -pointing out many different plants and their uses. We enjoyed our time with her.

I joined a free walking tour in Sapa and it truly exceeded my expectations. The tour was led by a local guide who spoke excellent English and was incredibly knowledgeable about the region, culture, and traditions of the ethnic minority communities. The guide was open to questions and even taught me a few words in local language! We ended the tour in a local coffee shop, where we tried local drinks and continuing gossiping. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Hicimos un tour de unas 3 horas con Su May y fue una experiencia inolvidable. A pesar de la duración, el tiempo pasó volando gracias a su cercanía y la belleza de los paisajes. Su May es una guía maravillosa: atenta, simpática, respetuosa y con un gran conocimiento de la zona. Es una mujer risueña que transmite completamente su felicidad. El recorrido fue ameno y apto para todo el mundo. Caminamos por zonas rurales preciosas, conocimos a personas locales y descubrimos rincones de Sapa que no están en los circuitos turísticos. Además, recomendamos llevar algunos dulces para los niños y adultos que viven en las aldeas, se alegran muchísimo de recibirlos y es una forma bonita de compartir. Nos ha encantado la experiencia, ha sido enriquecedora y muy humana. Sin duda queremos volver para hacer más tours con Su May e incluso alojarnos en su Home Stay. ¡Totalmente recomendable! Sapa ist sehr schön und es hat bei mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Definitiv zu empfehlen. Wir hatten auch Glück an dem Tag, da ich quasi eine Tour hatte, da sonst niemand da war.

I’m writing this to say a big thank you to my tour guide, Su May. She was honestly amazing. Not only did she show me some great places during the morning tour, but she also really helped me understand more about Sapa’s culture. Su’s energy and personality were just what you’d hope for in a guide. Big thanks also to Su for setting everything up ,I had a really great experience!

An enjoyable morning orientation to Sapa town. We saw two different temples, walked around the lake and through the tourist area, over to the market to see inside and outside and then finished at the museum ( we didn’t go to the coffee shop at the end as we were out of time) We enjoyed chatting and asking questions about this region of Vietnam.

Sumay is amazing. She's sweet and answered all of our questions. I would recommend doing this tour.
