Free walking tours in Tartu

This was a wonderfully informative and interesting trip. Stas the guide was fun and made a real effort to personalise the walk by providing tastings of local drinks and snacks. He also gave lots of advice about where to eat in Tartu which was helpful. A great experience all round.

I thought that abroad range of subjects was covered and Stanislav allowed us to ask questions about anything we were interested in. He was very funny and entertaining.. told us plenty about the history of the place but also modern life of the people and students living there now. He brought plenty of pictures and other information to show us as well as feeding a snack and explaining what was in them. I’m very glad that I did this tour and also that I met Stanislav, who is a great guy…. Sorry I forgot your name! And thanks for the political chat afterwards!

Very interesting tour of Tartu with Stas! He knows so much about every little part of the Town and has a very engaging way of imparting his knowledge, including about the local street art culture. The two of us thoroughly enjoyed the tour of Tartu and can only recommend exploring the town with Stas. Great bonus that he even let us taste a variety of Estonian specialities that he had brought for us. Thanks again for the wonderful experience of Tartu’s history and present!

Normally I enjoy free walking tours, but for me this one with Stanislav in Tartu was on another level — honestly the best free walking tour I’ve ever had. Stanislav was incredibly engaged and passionate. He gave us some of the most interesting and insightful information imaginable — not only about Tartu, but about the whole country and its culture, history, politics, and society. Everything was explained in such a multidimensional and fascinating way. Before driving to Tartu, I could never have imagined that the city could be this exciting. And that is entirely thanks to Stanislav. He completely changed the way we experienced the city. Highly, highly recommended!

Stanislav presented Tartu in a uniquely fun way. Along the walk we learned about history, tasted special Estonian treats and even discovered some secrets of the Estonian language. We visited all the important sites if the city, watched some street art, learned about poets such as Lydia Koidula - just the perfect tour.

Fue un Tour perfecto, con mucho dialogo y entretenido. Stanislav tiene mucho oficio y sabe como ponerle buena onda para hacerlo llevadero. Mezclamos temas culturales, historicos, politicos y artisticos. Recomiendo el tour con este guía.

Stans was everything a GuruWalk guide should be: engaging, humorous, and knowledgeable. A Ukrainian who has lived in Estonia for about seven years, he provided information with the depth of knowledge of a local, but with an analytic viewpoint of an observer looking in. As he knew we had been given a dose of Estonian history during a Tallinn GuruWalk he focused mostly on the city: its reason, history, architecture, and local characters. He covered a wide array of topics during the walk, all of which were informative and interesting, and his ability to answer impromptu questions was excellent. Highly recommended.

Stan was a great guide. Due to cancellations, I was the only participant. The tour was informative & fun. It didn’t feel awkward that I was the only person & he had an easy conversation style that made the tour time feel like it went quick. Would recommend Stan as a guide.

Had a fantastic time with Stas! He was full of jokes and also history facts. It was refreshing to walking with him, we had great conversations and he answered all of our questions. We are absolutely coming back in the summer for another one of his tours. He made the city feel familiar with its unique facts, buildings and history. 10/10, would recommend!

Even though I was the only person on the tour, that didn’t stop Stanislav from showing me around Tartu for a full three hours! The tour was insightful, funny, and genuinely such a great experience. Stanislav’s passion, stories, and humor made the city come alive, and I never once felt rushed or awkward being alone. I learned so much and enjoyed every moment. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to explore Tartu. Highly recommended!

Stanislav was an increidble tour guide! You know when it's just you, your partner and the guide, you might think:oh no! But Stanislav did an incredible work that it made it feel not awkward at all. He took us around old Town telling us about history and myths in a really entertaining way! If you visit Tartu, you cannot miss him!
