Tokyo Food Tour

My family and I had a fantastic experience with George as our guide! He showed us around the fish market and the Buddhist temple with great knowledge and enthusiasm. George made a real effort to engage every participant in the group and impressively remembered and used everyone’s names throughout the tour. His attention to detail and warm personality made the experience even more enjoyable. Wouldn’t have done it without him as a guide. Highly recommended!

We had a great time on the Tsukiji market tour led by Kawakami. We tried all sorts of different types of food at the various stalls that he guided us to. The time went by so fast!

We did a tour through the lively fish market of Tsukiji with Mao. She is sweet, funny, knowledgeable and always eager and available to answer all our questions. Mao walked us through the ins and outs of the market, provided delicious recommendations, carefully explained the magic behind the food being sold and how they are tied with Japanese culture. I would absolutely recommend this tour if you’d like to explore the market, while getting to know the history, the techniques and fun facts about the food, while also getting to enjoy some of its delicacies.

Great experience

I’m a bit of a foodie and not a native Japanese, so experiencing the marketers with a local who understands some of the businesses, and can explain some of the products/produce was so much fun. the guides were very engaging and attentive. Nobody was being left behind on their watch.

George was fantastic! He speaks fluent English and was very informative. We tried so many delicious foods at great prices, and he even took us to a beautiful nearby temple. This tour really saves you money while picking out the best places to taste. We highly recommend it!

The walking tour was so much fun! George is a great guide - he’s fun and very knowledgeable about the market and the surrounding area. On my tour, there were a few no shows and it ended up being just George and I walking and he was kind enough to curate the tour more towards my dietary preference because of that. The market itself has a variety of different stalls with many foods to try and goods to take home. We stopped at a few stalls that George recommended and I got a few dishes - everything was so delicious! He also made some recommendations for things that could be brought home as souvenirs which I did stop to purchase on my way out. Overall amazing tour with an amazing guide - I definitely recommend this tour!! Side note: I recommend the earlier tour if you can make it. I attended the earlier tour and by the time it was ending, it was very busy at the market and difficult to walk through the aisles.

Mao war ein phantastischer Guide, die Tour mit ihr hat den Besuch auf dem Fischmarkt zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis gemacht! Sie hat von Anfang an dafür gesorgt, dass sich die kleine Gruppe (wie waren nur 4 Teilnehmer) untereinander kennengelernt und wohl gefühlt hat. Sie ist auf unsere ganz individuellen Wünsche eingegangen und hatte vor allem auch einen guten Sinn für Humor! Danke, Mao, für das tolle Erlebnis!

This is my favorite tour of all the ones I’ve done. Keiko brings a number of ladies who help to make sure no one is lost in the maze of the market which allows you to stop and try what you like. All the guides have different experiences which was informative. Come ready with cash for your own food. Excellent tour!

Great tour

George was a fantastic guide! He showed us great quality stalls around the whole market with some of the best priced food and we had an excellent time. We all left feeling very full!
