Happy Strasbourg was founded in 2013, out of passion for our city and region, and is an independent organisation. Our first goal is to share this passion with anyone willing to learn about it. All our guides are born and raised in Strasbourg or its surroundings, and had plenty of time and a lifetime to learn what it really is to be alsatian… And believe our word, it is to be taken seriously! Armed with experience and well-established knowledges, they will give their best to make this tour as entertaining as interesting, to give you the best of this identity forged by more than 2000 years of history, from the most famous aspect of the city and its inhabitants to the most secret ones. Our tours are wrapped in a friendly and accessible stroll, every guide providing his own personal touch in an different and unusual way. Our first motivation is to share, our motto : dynamism and good mood!

About the tour

You may have seen a few pictures of Strasbourg, a postcard, a nice photography. Most of them show one district in particular : the Petite France, for good reason. With such a romantic name it should be charming and sweet. And it actually is! Old medieval district, the Petite France is a pedestrian area where you will stroll through cobblestone streets with houses between one and five centuries old, some of the finest examples of half-timbered houses, traditional Alsatian architecture. From the still visible details, we will picture you the life of locals, leading you over the many bridges composing this cosy and unique part of our town. You will then walk over some of the last remains of the old fortifications surrounding the city, to finish with a marvellous point of view, where the whole district will be unravelled.

With the Petite France Tour, the guide will lead you around the main monuments of the district, like Ponts Couverts, Barrage Vauban, or the pretty Pont du Faisan, but also through the places which give the district all its charming atmosphere like Place Benjamin Zix, Grand Rue, or Quai de la Bruche.

Pretty average. The guy was super nice and cheerful. However the trip itself didn't contain as many as you would expect from 2h+ tour. No hidden germs, just walking around.

I guess it's better to do the tour about the city and this one maybe if you have too much free time, but definitely not as the 1st choice

Response from Happy:

Hello Smiley, To be honest, I am very surprised of this comment, I think you are mistaking with an other tour. The Happy Petite France Tour is just a little more than 1h, and our Happy Original Tour is about 1h45, still less than 2h. Beside, I am proud to say that indeed, we're going deep into ou topics, and beside the highlights, we show a lot of hidden things on the way, a lot of stories that you wouldn't expect by your own or with a book guide. In the end, I'd invite you to check on our own website if one of us was your guide (happy-strasbourg.eu/about-us), if yes, I am trully sorry, and would be happy to hear a bit more from you. If no, I would kindly ask you to move your review to the rihgt plce please. Thank you! Gabriel, Happy Strasbourg.
