About the tour

BRUSSELS FREE TOUR: ATOMIUM AND EUROPEAN NEIGHBORHOOD Departure from the Grand Place, in the company of our guide at 10:30, to the Central Station, here we will take the metro to the Merode station, where the famous Tervuren Avenue is located, from there we will walk to the Cinquantenaire Park, with its famous arcades built at the request of King Leopold II. The park also houses the Art and History museums, the Automobile Museum, the Aviation Museum and the Navy Museum. We continue to the heart of Europe, the roundabout of Robert Schuman (considered one of the parents of the European Union), here are two of the main organs of the European Union; the Berlaymont, headquarters of the European Commission and the Justus Lipsius (current European Council) with its new annex, the Europa building "An egg of space", with 3,750 windows that reflect the diversity of Europe, in the latter meet the Heads of State of the European Union to hold the famous European summits and meetings of EU ministers. We leave this emblematic area to visit Leopoldo Park, a former Brussels zoo. In this park is currently the European History Museum, in a recently restored building, which was built by philanthropist Eastman Kodak, who invented the film for photos and founded several dental institutes for poor children in some European cities. Also in this park is the Ernest Solvay building, today an elementary school where the medallions of the engineers who worked for him are located. We continue our walk through the buildings of the European Institutions such as the Economic, Regional and Social Committees of the Union and the "European Parliament". The latter has two locations, one in Brussels and the second in Strasbourg. (The Brussels building is an unquestionably architectural beauty), known as the whim of God. Here we will have a pause time. Then, we will go by subway to the most visited Atomium monument in Brussels, located on the esplanade of Heysel, which houses the Belgian pavilions of the Universal Exhibitions of the years 1935 and 1958. This area also houses the Mini Europa park and the Heysel National Stadium. In this last stage, we conclude our tour and give the necessary recommendations to move around Brussels or so that our clients can visit the Mini Europa park, the Heysel Stadium or simply stroll through the Laeken park, formerly "Royal Domain of Laeken ", which was the residence of the favorite daughter of Empress Maria Teresa of Austria and even of Napoleon, today permanent residence of the Kings of Belgium. Please keep in mind! At the end of April and beginning of May, the Royal Palace permanent residence of the Kings of Belgium opens its doors to visit the famous royal greenhouse. Do not forget to visit it.
