Walking Mexico's Murals and Downtown
Tour description
I believe murals are the perfect excuse to get to know Mexico City's colonial downtown.
We'll start with Diego Rivera's hidden mural of The Alameda Park ($35 pesos) just next to Barrio Alameda. Then we'll cross the beautiful and well preserved park and into the astonishing Palacio de Bellas Artes ($70 pesos). Inside we will see all sorts of murals including some by the big ones of Mexico's Muralism: Siquerios, Orozco and Rivera's Rockefeller.
After we'll take a small detour to watch the unique Palacio de Correos. And then to Orozco's hidden mural inside the beautiful House of Tiles.
On our way to our final destination we'll take another quick detour to a flokloric and traditional Candy Store which inspired Rivera's painting of The Alameda.
The tour finnishes at El Zocalo, a place that was thought by the Aztecs as the center of the World.
