Located in Panama, capital city of the Republic of Panama you will find Explore Panama company tour leader, Inés Marlez. She will greet you for a walking tour around the city historical avenues, eager to show you the tropical gardens, monuments, architecture and some street art stories. About the tour

Calidonia and Ancón are two neighborhoods full of contrasts and unique in their class, they are located between Casco Antiguo and the Ancon hill.

Recognized for having been one of the border areas between Panama City and the US-administered Canal zone, each with unique characteristics of great interest to know.

Calidonia is an area of high traffic of cars and pedestrians, precisely between the avenue November 3 and the May 5th square we find buildings and avenues with much meaning, stories and full of movement.

In Ancón there are up to 4 different routes to reach the top of the hill 200 meters above sea level, it is an area of much vegetation and less traffic, depending on the day and our resistance we will choose the route to show you the slopes of Ancon hill and the possibility of reaching the summit where the flag of Panama flies.

In this tour we will show you artistic murals, we cross historical avenues and there we'll have an opportunity to meet the tropical fauna and flora of the natural park, according to the route chosen the day you visit.

We will show you and recognize:

- The multiple cultural contributions of Afro-Antillean, Hindostan and United States migration in Panama.

- Local social movements and the Latin American region.

- Design and construction of different periods: railroad, sidewalks, streets, water canal.

- Tropical fauna and flora.

- Buildings of the Legislative Assembly, Court of Justice of Panama, Canal Administration, among others.

- Possibility of drinking natural juice, Panamanian coffee and seasonal snacks (mango salad, pixvae, pineapple chunks, mafá, platanitos)

It is recommended to bring your water container, light clothing, sneakers or comfortable walking shoes.

It is possible to arrange to meet in a different time, just send me a message to see possiblity.

Inés was attentive, fun, and brilliant! She was able to give some layers and context to the places we visited. Our group was quite big this time, although Inés typically has a smaller group. She was able to give attention to those who wanted to chat some more (including myself). I loved how she was able to tell us about the history, and how that history affects the social, political, and environmental dynamics of Panama today. I've never done a tour through Guru Walk before, and Inés made the experience truly positive. The sights were fascinating, and some of the places we saw were spots I wouldn't have understood the meaning of, on my own. Having a local guide who was conscious about social justice was truly enjoyable. If you're still unconvinced about this tour, I hope this seals the deal for you! Muchas gracias.

This tour was really great. Our guide Ines was exceptional. She is extremely knowledgeable and the tour was a wonderful contrast between a few different areas in the city. Ines answered questions and provide information as to the Panamanian culture, it's people, and their lives. She was able to explain the history of Panama which made the tour meaningful and fun.

Ines was incredible. She went out of her way to lead us through interesting streets and neighborhoods, patiently answered all our questions (and we had a lot!), pointed and showed interesting things along the way, and broadened our understanding of Panama's history and current situation. Highly recommend.
