Founded by the Spanish in 1524, Granada is considered one of the oldest colonial cities in the Western Hemisphere. On this guided trip you will be taken to the Church of San Francisco and the neighboring Convent of San Francisco built in 1529. Now it functions as a museum, the convent is home to an impressive collection of pre-Colombian art. Continue with the beautiful Iglesia de la Merced, where you will have the opportunity to climb to the top of the bell tower and enjoy the spectacular views of the city, Lake Nicaragua and Mombacho Volcano. Next, we will go to La Pólvora Fortress to know the history of the place. Finish your tour in the oldest part of the city where you will visit the Xalteva Church and the ancient walls.
