Hi, my name is Gisela. I’m 18 years old and I’m a student. I was born in Valencia and I love my city. I’m looking for practice my English with new people. I want everybody to gave a good impression of Valencia, not only knowing general facts but learning about the charms this city has, gastronomy, culture and parties.
Valencia’s atmospheric is packed with street art, cafés and amazing architecture, is the home of many of the most famous attractions, such as the Cathedral and La Lonja de la Seda, it’s also fun for exploring lesser-known sights.
Wander the maze-like cobbled alleys and backstreets to escape the tourist trail (it’s completely safe to do so), and you’ll find pretty squares, tiny churches, street art and quirky cafés.
Even though Valencia is most famous for its ultra-modern City of Arts and Sciences, is also a treasure trove for lovers of old and new architecture. It has remains of both its Roman foundations and its Moorish history to explore. Old Town has many fantastic examples of everything from art deco to Valencian gothic – yes, the region really has its own style of gothic architecture – and many of the buildings are finished off with Valencia’s signature colourful ceramic tiles.
After meeting, the plan is to visit the most attractive places at the historic center, so first we will go to the Cathedral of Valencia, San Nicolás church, then to the Miguelete, we’ll do a little break to eat the best tapas or just drink something at a really special place. Finally we will walk to “El barrio del Carmen” to visit the incredible Quart Towers and the end of the walk will be next to the Turia’s river.
Get ready to walk and enjoy a lot!!
You will be able to find me at the door of the “Ayuntamiento de Valencia”. I’ll be wearing glasses, black jacket and jeans.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
