Free Walking Tour Magic Prague: The Castle after hours
Tour description
Visit the Prague castle after it closes. The crowds are gone. The magic returns. This tour covers both the must-sees and the "backstage" of the Castle. ** The must-sees: saint Vitus cathedral, Parade Gate, Parliament, the presidential gardens, the presidential guard in bib and tucker. ** The back-stage: the Communist "confession" chambers, the red light lane of yesteryear, the military barracks, the monasteries etc. ** and the stories. What happened to Hitler in this castle? How did Vaclav Havel muscle Communism down to the ground? How much lead was king Rudolf able to turn into gold? The buildings are closed but the grounds stay open for us. This is not an official history tour, it’s a stroll about the Castle grounds, in the company of a local. Our meeting point is but 5 minutes away from the Charles Bridge, at the foot of the Castle. From there we hop on tram #22, for a short ride on Prague’s most romantic streetcar. After your tour, your guide will help you back to public transportation or to a taxi. S/he can also make informed recommendations about things for you to do after your tour. This is a free tour: You pay what you want, at the end of your tour.
