Hello! I´m Lucia, a native of Valencia and passionate about local culture and traditions. I am an official tourist guide of Valencia County and a seasoned languages teacher. I´m bilingual in English language and I hold a B.A. in Social Sciences and Geography I have worked as a tour guide for several years, first in Dublin in the City Tour bus and now in my hometown, Valencia. As a local, I know many hidden corners and secrets of the city that I will share with you. I consider myself an empathetic and cheerful person with great communication skills. I love travelling and that is why I know very well what makes a place special. I have lived in exciting countries like Ethiopia, Burma and China as well as the UK and Ireland. Offered during Fallas week, this is a unique tour that combines the history, traditions and art of the Valencian Las Fallas festival, declared a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.
You will learn about the different characteristics that are part of the party:
- meaning of Fallas and "ninots" (statues and dolls),
- clothing and hairstyles
- mascletás (gunpowder pyrotechnic shows) and fireworks
- casales falleros (fallero clubs)
- Flower offering
- food and drink
- music and lighting
Everything will be sprinkled with anecdotes and real experiences from the hand of a Valencian guide. We will visit 6 failures in total, which belong to the Special section and First Section. We will leave the North Station building on Játiva Street to admire the multi-award-winning Falla de Convento Jerusalem and from there to the popular Falla del Ayuntamiento. From there we will walk to the historic faults of Pza. de la Merced and the Central Market and then continue and see the fault of Linterna/Av. West. Our last stop will be at the Falla El Pilar, one of the largest and with a lot of tradition.

Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
