Welcome to El Calafate, the national capital Los Glaciares !!! We are a group of professional tour guides, enthusiasts, passionate about the history of the place, its people and the nature that surrounds us. We enjoy reliving the story through stories, anecdotes, and curiosities in a very dynamic and entertaining way. The Calafate walking tour staff is made up of four guides; Iris and Yanira, both born in Patagonia, who like to sympathetically share local customs and experiences; Brenda and Marcelo have extensive experience with over twenty years living and working in Patagonia, who transmit their deep knowledge in a clear and expeditious way. We wait for you to live a unique and unforgettable adventure and join us in this initiative of enhancing, promoting and preserving our cultural and historical heritage.

About the tour

On the shores of Lake Argentino and close to the Andes mountain range, the city of El Calafate is the natural access to Los Glaciares National Park and the imposing Perito Moreno Glacier. We invite you to be the protagonists of our walking tour and thus learn about the authentic history and transformation that this incipient town lived through over the years. Starting the tour of the old royal wool road, today our main avenue, to then observe the first buildings with their traditional architecture that will take us to discover the historic center that survives the passage of time, imagining the life of the brave and persevering pioneers that forged this town in southern Argentina, witnessing the great change that this place went through, transforming itself into one of the main tourist villages in Patagonia. Do not miss this valuable opportunity, walking through the corners that go unnoticed and that contain rich anecdotes, complementing this visit with the best tips of Patagonian gastronomy and extra activities that can be carried out in the surroundings of El Calafate.
