I really enjoyed Simona and her enthusiasm for showing the group the quieter side of Venice. She gave us a lot of history, interesting tidbits, and food recommendations. She was very professional and managed our large group well. I liked that we always stopped in shady areas to give us longer explanations.

Simona was an engaging and entertaining tour guide who made the tour both informative and enjoyable. She spoke at a brisk pace to cover a wealth of historical facts and insights within the allotted time, and she was always willing to answer questions from the group. However, I was disappointed to learn that she intentionally avoided discussing the history of the Jewish community in Venice, particularly its experiences during the Holocaust, despite the fact that reminders of this history can still be seen today, including memorial markers embedded in front of some Venetian homes. She explained that her decision was influenced by the current political climate. While I respect that this can be a sensitive topic, I believe that historical facts should be presented objectively and discussed regardless of contemporary political circumstances. Once I realized that this important aspect of Venice's history was being omitted, it became difficult for me to fully engage with the rest of the tour's content.

Simona was excellent! I would highly recommend her tour. We walked for 2 hrs- and she shared so much interesting information with us. She was entertaining AND knowledgeable. We really enjoyed it. Oh, and a small detail, she would stop in not-crowded-plazas to tell us about the history. I appreciated this because I could fully focus on what I was learning instead of “moving out of the way” for others to pass. Small detail, but I’ve been on tours where that wasn’t the case and it was very distracting and took away from the learning.

Antes de comenzar el tour, el guía Raúl nos contactó por WhatsApp para darnos indicaciones y recomendaciones antes de empezar el tour. Las explicaciones durante todo el trayecto fueron correctas, explicándonos curiosidades de la vida cotidiana. Sin embargo, esperábamos haber llegado a la plaza de San Marcos para que nos hubiera explicado la Basílica y el Palacio Ducal, pero no llegamos hasta allí.

Simona is great, as she tells you of not only the great people of Venice, but also the common folk who lived and worked in Venice over the years, making it the city that it is now!

This was a great walking tour. Simona was very pleasant, professional and she gave us a lot of interesting pieces of information about Venice . I would recommend this tour to anyone who is new to Venice.

Recorrimos lugares que para el guía eran más Venecia auténtica, pero podría agregar los lugares populares y también hablar sobre ellos. Yo esperaba saber más y no tener que profundizar de manera personal

Das war unsere erste geführte Tour durch Venedig und wir waren sehr positiv überrascht. Simona ist sehr unterhaltsam und erzählt sehr viele interessante Details auch aus Sicht einer Einwohnerin von Venedig. Der Bogen geht von der Bauart der Stadt un dem Verkehr über bekannte Venezianer bis hin zu Tipps zum Finden eines guten Restaurants. Sie nimmt sich Zeit auch für Fragen und hat einen augenzwinkernden Humor, den wir als sehr angenehm empfanden. Highlight war der Besuch in einem Palazzo, der wegen der Biennale geöffnet war und in dem ein Künstler eine Ausstellung hatte.. Es ist also wohl nicht immer dasselbe, sondern Simona überlegt sich was für Ihre Gäste- Wir hatten das Gefühl, dass Sie Ihren Beruf sehr gerne ausübt und würden eine Führung mit Simona auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Con Raúl se aprende mucho sobre la Venecia local. Es un enamorado de la ciudad y así lo transmite, además de que la controla como la palma de su mano. También da buenos consejos y recomendaciones para que tu paso por Venecia sea lo más completo posible. Muy bien caminar con Raúl por esa ciudad tan mágica que es Venecia.

I’m not as not surprised because GuruWalks are always on point! I loved the walk with Simona and the great lunch recommendation. Plus she went above and beyond taking us into a palace to see the art exhibit. BONUS!!!
