The beautiful capital of Alsace holds many secrets. On this free tour of the mysteries and legends of Strasbourg we will discover the hidden side of the city at dusk.
When the Alsace sky lights up with stars, it is the perfect time to discover the mysteries and legends of Strasbourg. We will begin to learn the most surprising stories by meeting at the indicated time in front of Strasbourg Cathedral. Does this Gothic temple hide any mystery? Of course....
We will then go to Place Kléber to talk about Frau Troffea. This woman, who lived in Strasbourg at the time of the Holy Roman Empire, began to dance wildly one day. Many citizens began to follow their rhythm, but about 400 died of heart attacks, strokes or simple exhaustion. It is the so-called dance fever of 1518.
What could have motivated this tragedy? After investigating its possible causes, we will continue our free night tour of Strasbourg next to the iconic Covered Bridges. There we will learn about the cruel punishments that, between the 13th and 17th centuries, were imposed on people suspected of practicing pagan activities or witchcraft .
We will continue the tour walking through the Petite France neighborhood, in whose streets we will learn disturbing stories of ghosts and murders . We will also discover what macabre projects were devised by Adolf Hitler's regime at the Reich University during the Nazi occupation of Strasbourg.
Finally, after two hours of walking, we will conclude the visit next to the Barrage Vauban dam.
