Welcome to Berlin. I'm Seku (Sonia) and discovering places and stories is my passion. My earliest memories of the internet (yes, I'm a millennial) were spent researching blogs, communication, history, entertainment and philosophy. It didn't take me long to start tinkering with Google Earth and little by little I was introduced to the world of travel and itineraries. All the tours you find in my list (except the Sachsenhausen memorial tour) are created by me exclusively, with my project to make Berlin known as "UnGatoConPasaporte" where I want to free tours from schedules. Do not hesitate to contact me for any question I can help you with.
August 1961: The two Germanies and Berlin, a city divided by "the wall". Do you want to know more about how an "iron curtain" came to be built along the streets we walk through today? Don't settle for the usual stories and come and discover the history of the wall and of the GDR and FRG through the most fascinating escape stories of this time.
After a brief introduction to the consequences of World War II at Check Point Charlie we will be guided by the stories of two main families who survived the death strip and the Stasi in very different and risky ways.
We will explain the complexity of the visits from East to West and vice versa via the Tränenpalast as an introduction to the story of our next family on the tour. From Friedrichstr station we will take the S-Bahn to our next stop.
Throughout the tour of about three hours, it will be necessary to have an A-B ticket for the entire tour. The tour ends in the vicinity of Mauerpark at the Bernauerstr. wall memorial, which is well connected to the U8 and the streetcar (M10).
Don't miss the most memorable escapes. Come for a tour, learn about the development of the different phases of the wall and let the exciting stories of the escapes leave you open-mouthed.
TANDEM VERSION
In order to be able to provide more tours, we have our bookings open for our tours in English and Spanish so that we reach the minimum amount of 5 assistants easily. Therefore, in case we have a TANDEM TOUR, the itinerary and content will remain the same, it will just take about an hour longer to finish. Feel free to contact us if you have any inquiries.
In case the minimum assistants of 5 people were not reached, the platform will contact you to let you know so that we can find an alternative, such as a private tour.
Under the white sign "entering the American sector". Further details through message before the tour in the platform
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
