Arkeo Tour was born from an idea of a group of youngs from Andalusia and Madrid who loved its History, culture and heritage. Our team is made up of great professionals with extensive experience in managing of tourist groups and cultural visits in different parts of Spain. Most of us have trained on the street, collaborating in different archaeological sites, art galleries and museums. We consider that our land has great heritage and cultural potential that must be valued for both residents and tourists. We do not believe that transmitting our history is bored. We want you to enjoy it. May you live the experience. And that you impregnate yourself with the vestiges of our past. Join this adventure with us!

About the Tour

In the 21st century we are still lucky enough to preserve a vast material legacy of the Roman presence in the region. Since its foundation in the 1st century BC by Julius Caesar, the so-called Iulia Romvla Hispalis became, together with Italica, one of the main Roman cities on the banks of the Guadalquivir. Organized around the Forum (current Plaza de la Alfalfa), the city occupied about 11 hectares and was divided by the Cardo Máximo (Alhóndiga, Cabeza del Rey Don Pedro, Corral del Rey and Abades streets) and the Decumano Máximo (Luchana, Rojas Marcos, Estrella and Don Remondo). Thanks to the written sources and archaeological excavations, today we can recover a large part of Seville's Roman urbanism, as well as recognize the remains of its walls, temples and aqueducts, or beautiful mosaics inserted in more modern buildings. In this route we present you a guided tour away from the traditional tourist circuits. If you are passionate about History and Archeology, we will accompany you on this journey in time that you will never forget. We will visit the remains of the Temple of Mars or the Cisterna Magna, we will tell you in which houses or churches Roman vestiges are preserved and we will access the subsoil of the city under the famous Seville Mushrooms to discover archaeological finds from the Antiquarium. Doesn't that sound like a great plan? Book your visit now. If you come in a group or need to change the date or time, contact us. Note: Entrance to the Antiquarium will cost € 2 (except residents in Seville and children under 16 years old).

Meeting point: Open in Google Maps

How to find me: Next to the Caños de Carmona. Luis Montoto Street, 24 (Seville). You will recognize our guides by their striking red shirt. (It is recommended to arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the start of the route).
