Eat like a local! Savor the true flavor of Oaxacan food. Not in restaurants! Get to know the most popular places in Oaxaca to eat and try the famous traditional Oaxacan food. With local guide.
We visit the two most popular markets found in the city center. Benito Juárez Market and November 20 Market. In the Benito Juárez market you can taste the traditional waters, as well as the traditional drink of Oaxaca: tejate. In that market you can also taste the grasshoppers, a staple food of Oaxacans as a snack, and the traditional yellow pie. At the end of the tour we return to this market to taste the traditional Oaxacan sweets.
At the November 20 market we visited the famous meat aisle to taste the roasted meats, then we tried the traditional Oaxacan tamales and a quesadilla made on the comal, as it should be. We also tried the famous stuffed chiles.
The approximate total cost of the tastings is $ 200 MXN pesos (depending on each person).
Throughout the tour, all the recommendations are followed to prevent infections. Both markets have sanitary measures. Therefore, it is mandatory to wear a mask during the tour.
