Free walking tour The jewel of the Gulf of Naples: Posillipo by sea

Duration: 2h and 30min
Languages: English, Spanish, Italian
Quality Verified Registered on February 16, 2020

Greetings to all travelers! My name is Teresa and I am originally from Naples. I like meeting new people and learning more about their culture. I consider myself a fun, friendly and hard-working person, especially when it comes to showing tourists all the best parts of my city. I love traveling and seeing new places, so it is natural for me to enjoy sharing the secrets of Naples with other people who are discovering it for the first time or who are coming back to learn more. When I'm not guiding, I like to bike around this beautiful city, climb to enjoy the wonderful nature around Naples, or just go for a jog and enjoy the sights and sounds while getting some exercise. ** I am also available to do tours in other amazing destinations that are close to Naples. If you want a personal guide to accompany you to the picturesque town of Sorrento, or walk the streets of the beautiful island of Capri, or even visit the ancient city of Pompeii next to Mt. Vesuvius, ask me for more information on times and prices to plan your day trips!

Tour description

The birth from the waters of one of the oldest and most fascinating cities in Europe, mentioned by Homer in the Odyssey, born of the love of the siren Parthenope, who failed to enchant Odysseus, who let himself die in the waves of the sea. The island of Megaride, where the Castel dell'Ovo stands, was the birthplace of the history and legend of this enchanted city, told by the enamored writer Virgilio, where he is still buried today. Dungeons of the castle there is an egg in a golden cage and if the egg should break it would be the end of this fabulous city. We start with the boat that takes us around the castle, or around Posillipo in the Gaiola Natural Park, the house by Vedio Pollione, the host of Ottaviano Augusto, to whom he left the Pousillipon estate after his death, and admired by the Neapolitans, all of this framed in the fabulous backdrop of the Gulf of Naples. shall we go? The boat (minimum 4 people costs € 35 per person, not included in the price) leaves from Via Sauro and the tour lasts two hours on board with the opportunity to swim on Posillipo beach.
