Tour description
Discover Lima on foot, the former seat of the Viceroyalty of Peru, an ancient city dating back more than 3,000 years. We will get to know Lima from a local perspective with constructive and relevant comments about the history of this city.
On this tour you will visit colonial mansions such as the Osambela mansion where Don José de San Martin gave the first dance after the proclamation of independence in 1821.
We will also pass by the house of San Martin, the first Peruvian saint of African origin, currently classified as the first African saint in the world, born in Lima at the beginning of the 17th century and canonized at the end of the 20th century due to three miracles he performed.
On the route we will also explore the famous temple of Santa Rosa who is considered the first saint of America contemporary to San Martin de Porres, the first African Saint.
Saint Rose of Lima is considered the patron saint of America and the Philippines.
Puente Piedra is one of the destinations on this tour from where you will see the San Cristóbal Hill where you can see the lower class of the city of Lima. Keep in mind that Puente Piedra is a work from the colonial era of the 16th century.
The Rimac River is also part of this tour, the word Rimac comes from the Quechua language which means "talkative river" and is the most vital part of the Rimac Valley where the city of Lima is located, in fact the word Lima comes from the name of this river.
