My name is David Lemus, a local tourist in love with these lands since the first time he set foot on them. Philosophy student and passionate about history, Owner and legal representative of Turismo Local Santa Marta, a community and regenerative tourism operating agency in Magdalena. My commitment to our territory is to show you the contrasts that Santa Marta has. I have worked alongside indigenous, peasant and fishing communities in the development of regenerative tourism with a positive impact on our region and the environment. During this time I was introduced to sociology and anthropology, which has allowed me to learn about the different cultural perspectives that represent the diversity and cultural heritage of our region, such as those of our indigenous, fishing, raizales, rural and urban communities. Welcome to the imposing Magdalena

Tour description

You must get to know Taganga. But please, not the conventional way!
I'm referring to that typical tour:
They load you into a minivan, then onto a boat, and five minutes later you're on a beach full of people eating fried fish. You take a photo, upload it to your social media, and hopefully, it'll be the best memory you'll have of the day.
Don't get me wrong: to each their own. And if that sounds like a good experience for $40 or $50, that's fine.
But today I offer you something different.
After living and working for years in the true tourism sector of the region, I've come to understand that Taganga is much more than a postcard.
This small village has a history of more than 700 years of traditional fishing, a deep connection with the Sierra, and a spirit that isn't immediately apparent. I invite you to walk its trails in the morning, along the seashore, while listening to the birds and watching pelicans fly overhead. We'll visit hidden beaches, hear ancient stories, snorkel over colorful reefs, and, if you like, finish off by kayak before sharing a traditional lunch, laughter, and good memories. And yes: we'll do it all in a single day. So... are you up for it?
