Tour description

The history of Dubrovnik is truly remarkable.
An independent, merchant republic for 450 years, marked by the inscription "Forget private matters, care for public affairs" in Latin above the entrance to the chambers of the Great Council, it ceased to exist in 1808. From 1358 to 1808, 
The Republic of Dubrovnik set an example for major powers in various realms, including economy, culture, science, diplomacy, and espionage networks. Ranking fourth in the world in terms of trading fleet strength, it was one of the few states engaged in trade with both the East and the West.

Join me on an enchanting stroll through the city center as we explore some major sights and off-the-beaten-track spots.

This free walking tour includes all the city’s highlights:
Pile Gate, St. Lawrence Fortress, Onofrio's Fountains, the main street known as Stradun or Placa, Jesuit Stairs, the Cathedral, Rector's Palace, Orlando Column, and many more places that I will unveil during the tour.

My goal is to make you feel familiar with the city's of Dubrovnik, ensuring you are comfortable as you explore on your own.

The Dubrovnik city tour led by Valentina was fantastic! Valentina was professional, funny and caring for the group. She shared interesting facts about the history and lifestyle of Dubrovnik. The route was interesting and showed all the remarkable historical monuments some of which hidden if you weren’t a local.

April 2nd 2023 with Cheryl Valentina was an outstanding guide! It was off season, so my friend, Cheryl and I were lucky to have a tour with Valentina all to ourselves! What a treat! Valentina is very knowledgeable about the past and current history of Dubrovnik! While the tour is informative, Valentina also makes it entertaining and goes at a relaxing pace instead of being rushed from site to site like some other tours I have been on. She is caring with her guests as well. I was having some knee issues and she always made sure to ask if I needed assistance and had a helping arm ready.
