- LOCAL‘S PERSPECTIVE OF HONG KONG! -
Join me for a captivating walking tour of the Island East side of Hong Kong, where we will delve into the vibrant local neighbourhoods and immerse ourselves in the daily lives of the locals!
Island East is an underrated and unexplored side of the city that offers a unique glimpse into the rich history of Hong Kong. This area served as a bustling coastal area for industries such as fishery, sugar production and shipyard business. Today, it is considered to be the second commercial centre of Hong Kong, attracting major corporates to relocate their HQs here while maintaining a growing number of residential estates.
Our journey will begin as we savour the flavours of the local street food scene. From there, we will embark on a fascinating guided route along the East to centre of the Hong Kong Island by the Island's most iconic transportation - the "Dingding" tram. Enjoy local culture and stories along the way!
Throughout the tour, we will have the opportunity to interact with locals, visit traditional markets, and explore some iconic attractions (e.g., monster buildings) that reveal the authentic charm of Island East.
By the end of the tour, you will have gained a local perspective of Hong Kong and a deeper appreciation of how this city has evolved from a fishing village to a metropolis.
I will be outside of McDonalds with a blue bucket hat.
This is the local's favourite street food night market in Island East side. Normally the busiest at night, but we will still get a glimpse of the local food available! Spare some changes to get some street food.
