Free Tour of Benidorm: the essentials
Tour description
We will begin this free tour of Benidorm by meeting at the indicated time in the Plaza Triangular, also called Plaza de la Hispanidad. From this point we will head towards the historic center, where we will learn about the origins of the ancient fishing village.
While we walk along Calle Mayor we will explain how Benidorm evolved from that small fishing village to becoming an internationally famous tourist destination. It's amazing!
We will continue the tour in the Plaza de Castelar, where we will see the façade of one of the oldest temples in the town. This is the church of San Jaime and Santa Ana, built in the 18th century to honor the patron saint of Benidorm: the Virgin of Suffrage.
Very close to the church is the Castillo viewpoint , where we will enjoy excellent views of Levante beach. Furthermore, along its coastline we will see the famous set of skyscrapers that have turned Benidorm into “the New York of the Mediterranean”.
To conclude this two-hour free tour, we will go down the stairs that connect this viewpoint with the Mediterranean Balcony. From this privileged observation point we will contemplate the island of Benidorm on the horizon. Do you know their legends? We will reveal them to you!
