Bucharest in a nutshell - half day walking tour

Duration: 3h and 30min
Languages: English, Italian

Born and raised in Bucharest, I've been a tour designer and tailored experience facilitator for 20+ years in Romania. Tango dancer and taichi practitioner with a penchant for cultural experiences and travel; background of law and project management degree. Not a believer of "package tourism". Always willing to go the extra mile in order to provide the guest with the best possible experience. Love to translate my cultural space or deepen the knowledge of the traveler who is curious to discover more. Off and on the beaten path. . . Passionate about exchange of ideas and world cultures. Virtually undiscovered and at the crossroad of many cultural influences, Bucharest can surprise you with its many facets and complicated landscape. It is definitely worth giving it a try. I will be telling you both the legends and the real facts of, still, Europe's best kept secret. We will be touching the most important spots and the less obvious: the old center with bustling life and auberges, turn of the century palaces, squares and gardens, cemeteries and communist decay. I can take you from late medieval to the recent history of my hometown, explain the architectural landscape and familiarize you with the local habits and cuisine. I If you would like further details, please get in touch!

Tour description

I offer you a comprehensive perspective of Bucharest and Romania, with several stops at the most important landmarks.

Your local guide will help you become familiar with the city in just 3.5 hours. Very comprehensible and chronological as I will take you from the birthplace of the city to its modern times, from late middle ages to end of century and glory days, and from Ottoman traces to brutalist communism.  Flexible and customizable it can include a short coffee break on request.

It includes:

Old center and its secrets;
Financial district and Ottoman period remains;
University square with national theater and its revolutionary scars;
Victory Boulevard - the high street of the city and its old history; Revolution square and the Communist disaster
Royal Palace and the creation of the Romanian modern state;
Atheneum - the Parthenon of culture in Bucharest;
...and many more you will become familiar with.

Let's have a walk in Bucharest!
