San Salvador de Chora and Byzantine Istanbul. Walking tour in Spanish.
Tour description
Edirnekapi, the Byzantine gateway to Adrianople, is located at the top of the sixth hill of Constantinople. A walk through its streets will allow us to take an intense journey through the city's history. We'll be able to contemplate the majestic walls that protected its inhabitants for a thousand years; we'll see, from the outside, the jewel of Byzantine art, the Church of the Savior in Chora; we'll enter the Mirihmah Sultan Mosque and learn about its romantic legend; we'll see the Martyrs' Cemetery, the traditional colorful houses, and much more on a three-hour walk through a lesser-known and less-visited neighborhood that is, without a doubt, a must-see in Istanbul.
At the end of the tour, admission to San Salvador de Chora will be provided for those wishing to do so (optional). The price is currently €20 and no advance purchase is required.
NOTE: Appropriate clothing is required for entering mosques and suitable footwear for steep, cobblestone streets.
Reservations for 6 or more people in one or more reservations have special conditions, requiring a commitment to pay €10 per person.
