Tour description

Take a poignant train ride on Uganda's historic railway, established in the 1900s. Learn about the history behind the construction of the railway, see how communities live along the tracks, and enjoy a sunset over the African landscape as you take a return ride on the railway.

Experience bits of the Kampala center metropolitan as you make your way to the railway center. See and learn how the ghetto communities survive in the railway zone areas.

Learn about how they have affordable housing to live as they toil between the city working for the rich and middle class or hawking goods. Discover how they grow some crops on the railway soil reserves.

On your return journey, enjoy a magnificent sunset of the African sun.

Free tours don't have a fixed price. At the end, each person contributes to the guide the amount they consider fair based on their satisfaction. As a guideline, Guruwalk recommends between €15 and $50 per participant.
