Jamie was a terrific guide! This tour was conducted in both English and Spanish which meant it was longer than normal but did not take anything away from the experience. I actually enjoyed listening in Spanish too. We learned a lot about the history of Leiden and were taken places that we would otherwise have missed. I like how Jamie started the tour at the windmill and then we walked back in time to the center of Leiden and oldest part of the tour’s history. He was easy to hear and was very willing to answer all of questions. I would highly recommend this tour and Jamie as a guide!

Excellent walking tour. We would not have discovered all the areas we were taken to on our own. Thought the guide provided the right amount of history and background to the city of Leiden.

Eine erstklassige Tour mit einem sehr fürsorglichen und kompetenten Guide. Ohne Jaimie hätten wir Leiden nie so entdecken und uns nicht in dem Maße von der Stadt begeistern lassen können. Sehr zu empfehlen!

We really enjoyed this walking tour! Our guide did a wonderful job bringing Leiden’s history to life rather than simply pointing out buildings and dates. I found the stories about Leiden’s pilgrimage history particularly fascinating, and the well-placed jokes connecting Dutch and American history kept things light and entertaining. The route was very thoughtfully designed, gradually revealing different layers of the city and ending at the Burcht, the circular hilltop fort at the historic heart of Leiden. It felt like the perfect place to finish the story of the city.

Jamie was a fabulous guide! We visited many sites, he had many wonderful stories, knowledgeable explanations, make sure we were comfortable throughout the tour, and I felt had investigated in depth information about the sites, the city, highly recommend the tour. He explained initially where we were going to go, what we were going to see, how it all tied in to the history of the city, and when we reached an area/intersection informed us about our immediate route forward so we were not floundering about knowing where to head. A great tour, a great guide!
