Hi, I’m Hawi — a professional documentary photographer with a passion for nature, culture and birding. When I’m not managing projects or spending time with my loved ones, you’ll find me exploring Ottawa’s rich natural spaces with my camera in hand. Over the years, I’ve discovered some of the city’s most beautiful birding spots, and I’m excited to share them with you. Join me for a guided adventure into Ottawa’s birdlife — whether you’re a local or a visitor, there’s always something new to discover!

Tour description

Every spring, Ottawa bursts into bloom—and so does its birdlife. Join me, Hawi, a local documentary photographer and passionate birder, on a one-of-a-kind nature tour that weaves together vibrant tulip displays, peaceful waterways, and the joyful songs of migrating birds.

Our journey begins among the brilliant few remaining blooms of the Canadian Tulip Festival, where color meets history and spring awakens the senses. From there, we’ll stroll along the Rideau Canal, tracing a quiet path into the lush Central Experimental Farm Arboretum, a hidden gem where trees whisper old stories and feathered friends flutter through the canopy.

Next, we’ll explore the Fletcher Wildlife Garden, a haven for birds and pollinators, where I’ll guide your eyes and ears to spot some of Ottawa’s most fascinating bird species—warblers, woodpeckers, finches, and maybe even an owl if we’re lucky. Our final stop is the Experimental Farm Gardens, where cultivated beauty meets wild nature, offering the perfect ending to this rich and colorful experience.

This is more than a tour—it’s a sensory journey that blends storytelling, birdwatching, photography tips, and the serenity of nature. Whether you’re a visitor or a local, you’ll see Ottawa in a way most never do.

The tulips don’t last long—so grab your walking shoes, bring your curiosity, and book your spot today. Let’s chase color and song together this spring!
